PRACTICAL INFORMATIONS

IUC/CAAS 

The conference will be held at the Centre for Advanced Academic Studies (CAAS) in Dubrovnik, located in the centre of Dubrovnik, with a short walking distance form the Old City and historical part of Dubrovnik (less than five minutes’ walk). 

The Centre for Advanced Academic Studies (CAAS) is founded by the University of Zagreb as a public academic institution for international scientific programs and postgraduate studies. Numerous scientific programs, academic conferences, courses, seminars, summers schools and various project are held throughout the year in the premises of CAAS. CAAS is hosting other institutional and projects, most notably the Inter - University Centre Dubrovnik (IUC), which is an independent center for advanced study, grounded in and sustained by its international network of partner universities and 125 members from all over the world. 

CAAS is equipped with a large conference hall, 12 lecture rooms and additional meeting rooms, coffee shop and CAAS Residence and Apartments which can host up to 70 participants.  All lecture rooms are equipped with supporting technical devices and there is a free wireless internet available through the eduroam infrastructure. There is and additional ccomputer room on the 1st floor with 25 PCs, open Monday-Friday from 08:00 till 19:00 with Internet free of charge.

The CASS building has a spacious courtyard used for coffee breaks and events. Because of its location, CAAS offers an astonishing view on Dubrovnik and its Old City.

The exact address of the CAAS is Don Frana Bulića 4, 20000 Dubrovnik. The Pile stop (Old City of Dubrovnik) bus station is located only 300 meters away and the Cafeteria Sesame is right in front of the CAAS.

TRAVEL 

There are different ways how you can reach the CAAS building:

- Taxi – the taxi station is located just outside the Arrivals Terminal. The journey takes around 25 minutes and the price is around 40- 50 €. Please specify your address as Don Frana Bulića 4. More detail on the taxi can be found at: http://dubrovnikairporttaxi.com/ourprices.php

- Shuttle Bus – the shuttle departs 30 minutes after each flight. If taking the shuttle, exit at the Old town (Ploče gate) or tell the driver that you are getting off at Pile (pronounced PEE-leh). When you get off at the Pile stop keep walking for approximately 300 meters in the same direction as the shuttle was travelling until you come to the Cafeteria Sesame. In front of Cafeteria Sesame you will see about 20 steps. Take these steps and you will reach the CAAS building. The price of the shuttle is 10 € per person (one way ticket or 14 € the return ticket) and the tickets can be bought at the Platanus travel agency counter- placed next to the baggage claim area, Main bus station, Cable car stop (Shuttle bus office) or online. ACCOMODATION 

CAAS offers the possibility of accommodation for up to 70 participants. The CAAS Residents has 21 single, 13 double rooms (each with a bathroom and non-smoking room) and 3 shared rooms (shared bathroom) located at the third floor of the CAAS building. The price of the room is 44 € for a single room/per night, 40 € for double room/per night, 64 € double room for single use per person/pr night and 35 € form room with shared bathroom per person/night. The price include the breakfast and there is a possibility for dinner of full board supplement that are paid extra.
